Cognitive Neuroscience is the scientific study of the relationship between the brain and mind. The aim of the Exeter Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience is to bring together researchers at the University of Exeter with an interest in this area and to establish collaborations with researchers outside the cognitive research group. We have already established links with researchers as close by as the University of Bath and as far field as Milan. A growing focus of the centre is becoming collaborative research in the field of social neuroscience and neuro-economics: Investigating how social and economic decision making processes are carried out by the brain.
A impressive range of facilities are available in Exeter for cognitive neuroscience research, including a fully equipped EEG/ERP laboratory, a research dedicated 1.5T MRI scanner, two state of the art eye tracking systems and a fully equipped TMS lab. The centre also has a growing list of publications in high impact journals.
Cognitive Neuroscience research in Exeter has received funding awards from The Wellcome Trust and the Economic and Social Research Council.
