Profile

Chris is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Social and Organizational Psychology at the University of Exeter. He is currently involved in a number of projects, including those that examine: (a) how women’s experiences in the workplace shape their self-concept, behavior, and work-related ambitions; (b) how racial, ethnic and sexual minorities’ experiences of feeling valued/admired among fellow minority ingroup members shape their self-concept, experiences with discrimination, tendency to engage in collective action and mental health; (c) how individuals’ come to discern their status in different types of social groups (e.g., workgroups, student groups, racial/ethnic minority groups); (d) how individuals’ experiences of feeling respected in groups affect their physiological stress responses; (e) how members of different social groups react to changes in racial, ethnic and cultural diversity.
