Claire Harries
PhD student

Claire is a research student based in the Mood Disorder’s Centre, under the supervision of Dr Heather O’Mahen (University of Exeter) Dr Kim Wright (University of Exeter), and Professor Adele Hayes (University of Delaware).

She graduated from Cardiff University with a first class honours degree in Psychology with Professional Placement in 2015. Her research interests focus upon understanding how, why, and for whom psychological treatments for depression work. In particular, she is interested in how patterns of depressive symptom change are characterised within cognitive and behavioural therapies for depression. The aim of Claire’s research is to identify whether there are specific treatment components of these therapies that are necessary for depressive symptom change, and if there are specific times during these therapies at which it is best to target these components.
