Lorna Hardy
PhD student

I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter in 2014, graduating with first class honours in Psychology. My final year research project investigated learning mechanisms in drug-seeking behaviour, supervised by Dr. Lee Hogarth. In the final year of my degree I was fortunate to be awarded a 1+3 studentship from the ESRC, and I am currently completing an MSc in Psychological Research Methods. My PhD research, supervised by Dr. Lee Hogarth and Dr. Celia Morgan, is in partnership with the Exeter Drug Project and aims to investigate the maintenance of abstinence goals in recovering users of this service.

Alongside this, I co-coordinate Action After Stroke - a student-led, not for profit organisation that provides the facilities and supervision to enable recovering stroke patients to exercise safely.

Broad research specialisms:

  • Associative learning mechanisms in drug addiction
  • Pharmacological and behavioural interventions
