Profile

Sharon is an Australian registered Clinical Neuropsychologist and researcher working within the REACH (Research in Ageing and Cognitive Health) team and the Cognitive and Behavioural Neurology department of the Medical School.

Her main research interests include cognitive rehabilitation, as well as the study of memory and language impairments, particularly in patients with early onset dementia or a rare form of epilepsy known as Transient Epileptic Amnesia (TEA).

As a neuropsychologist, Sharon's research is focused on the cognitive consequences of different forms of brain impairment.

Her specific specialisms include:

  • Diagnosis and cognitive interventions in Semantic Dementia
  • Diagnosis of Frontotemporal Dementia
  • Cognitive profile of Transient Epileptic Amnesia
  • Emotion processing in Motor Neurone Disease
  • Methodological quality in rehabilitation studies
