Overview
Rachael is the Programme Administrator for the Post Graduate Training Course in Mindfulness Based Therapies and Approaches at the University of Exeter. Her role involves administering the programme and overseeing the day to day tasks. In addition to this Rachael also holds a central role to the Mindfulness Network providing administration support.
Rachael has previous experience working as a Clinical Research Coordinator working with Professor Willem Kuyken on a number of Mindfulness based studies and currently works one day a week on a randomised control trial of mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Parents (MBCT-P) compared to Care as Usual. This study is aimed at looking at the influence of MBCT in comparison to usual care, such as anti-depressants.
Qualifications
Rachael holds a Diploma in the Practice and Theory of Counselling and is a Qualified Integrative Counsellor.
Career
Rachael joined the Mood Disorders Centre in September 2010 when she worked with Professor Willem Kuyken on the PREVENT trial - ‘Preventing depressive relapse in NHS settings‘ where her role was to assist with the recruitment of participants to the study, assessing their eligibility.
Prior to working here Rachael worked in Human Resources before training to be a Counsellor.
