Overview
Alison graduated as a Clinical Psychologist in 2005 from the University of Plymouth and has primarily worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health settings, including a Child Development Centre, CAMHS, an independent psychological practice and Fostering Agency. Over her career her professional interests in attachment, brain development, childhood dissociation and developmental trauma have grown. Since qualifying Alison has regularly supervised trainees from both the Plymouth and Exeter training courses, as well as providing training. Therapeutically she draws on models underpinned by Attachment Theory such as Theraplay and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). Alison joined the DClin Team as a Clinical Tutor for Somerset in June 2022 and later became the convenor for the child teaching.
