Project team
Professor Michelle Ryan

Michelle is a Professor of Social and Organisational Psychology and Lead Investigator on the project.
In previous research together with Alex Haslam, she uncovered the phenomenon of the glass cliff, whereby women (and members of other minority groups) are more likely to be placed in leadership positions which are risky or precarious.
Having spent many years at the University of Exeter, Michelle has recently taken up the position of Director of the Global Institute for Women's Leadership at the Australian National University
Dr Renata Bongiorno

Renata is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the project.
Renata's research interests include Gender inequality, gender stereotyping, gender prejudice, collective action, social change.
Dr Chris Begeny

Chris is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the project.
Chris's research interests include respect, stayus and social hierarchies, discrimination and stigma, social identity processes and mental health.
Dr Thekla Morgenroth

Thekla was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the project until December 2021. They remain associated with the project whilst located at Perdue University
Thekla's research interests include effects of gender stereotypes, gender in the workplace, disruptions to and maintenance of the gender binary, essentialism and sexual orientation.

Sarah White

Sarah works with Michelle and the team to deliver the multiple streams of research on the CIC project.
Dr Alex Fisher

Alex’s research interests include gender stereotypes and their effects in professional and romantic contexts, gender and authenticity in the workplace, and close relationships and identity.
Dr Loes Meeussen

Loes is a collaborative researcher on the project.
Loes's research specialisms include cultural diversity and gender equality, wellbeing and performance at school and at work and intragroup dynamics.
Fiona French

Fiona is the administrator on the project and has over 18 years experience working in university administration in both education and research.
