Alex Carter is a PhD student at the University of Exeter, supervised by Dr Luke McGuire, Professor Adam Rutland and Professor Nadira Faber. His research explores social and moral development in childhood and adolescence. Specifically, the expression of speciesism (the assignment of different moral value based on species membership) in different culutral contexts, and the role of social norms and group processes in how children think about animals.
