About me:
I have recently retired but continue as an honorary senior lecturer in psychology and work with the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme.
My interests include leadership and public policy, ethics. Public health and community psycholgy. I have a long standing interest in addressing the climate and ecological emergency and advocating for psychologists and psychology to play a more active role. I was pleased to play some role in the establishment of an Environmental Psychology Section in the Briish Psychological Society and also of other related groups in the BPS.
I am a past chair of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Ethics Committee. I am a member of the BPS Climate Environment Action Coordinating Group and its equivalent in the Division of Clinical Psycholgy . I am a member of the BPS Steering Group on Psychology and Human Rights. I also am past co-chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology group on prevention and public health.
The connection between global health and wellbeing on the one hand and environmental sustainability and climate change on the other are key ethical questions as the role of human activity is now so clear.
