Professor Barney Dunn is a research and clinical psychologist whose work aims to develop, evaluate and implement novel psychological therapies to improve wellbeing and functioning in depression and related mental health conditions.

 

He is co-lead of the AccEPT clinic, an NHS commissioned service innovating and evaluating novel psychological therapies for mood disorder clients who fall in the gap between existing primary and secondary care mental health services. He also acts as co-lead of the mental health stream of the NIHR School for Primary Care Research at the University  of Exeter, which is part of the Exeter Collaboration for Academic Primary Care (APEX) group. He also co-directs the Exeter site of the depression theme of the national Mental Health Mission, aiming to build a national network to support clinical trials for depression. He is an HCPC registered practitioner psychologist and is accredited as a CBT therapist by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. He has previous experience in psychological assessment during recruitment and in work place wellbeing initiatives.
