About me:
I am a Professor of Clinical and Applied Psychology, a Clinical Psychologist and accredited CBT therapist. I am also a National (2023) and Principal (2024) Teaching Fellow with the HEA.
At the University, I am Director of CEDAR (Clinical Education Development and Research; (http://cedar.exeter.ac.uk) an applied psychological centre of excellence within Psychology at the University of Exeter and the Director of Clinical Training (Post Graduate Taught Programmes), leading the delivery of Psychological Professions training programmes, post qualifying practice training and related evaluation, consultancy and CPD activity.
I am also the Co-Chair of the Psychological Professions Network (https://www.ppn.nhs.uk) in the South West PN-SW and Chair of the BPS CYP Training Committee. I work nationally with NHSE leading and supporting workforce and curriculum development for the Psychological Professions.
My clinical specialism is within Children and Young People's mental health and I work regionally and nationally in relation to Children and Young People's workforce strategy, training and implementation and supporting service transformation. I am passionate about developing and growing all of the different Psychological Professions as well as new roles to maximise their impact and effectiveness and doing so in partnership with Experts by Experience. I am committed to widening access in to Psychological Professions and supporting sustainable career development pathways.
