Ciro Civile

I am currently an Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Exeter, UK, where I serve as Deputy Head of the Psychology Department and Lead for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) Unit of Assessment 4 (Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neuroscience).

Previously, I held roles as Chair of the Research Ethics Committee and Deputy Lead of the Cognitive Psychology & Neuroscience Group. After completing my PhD at the University of Exeter, I undertook a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at McMaster University in Canada from 2013 to 2017. I returned to Exeter in 2017 after being awarded both a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship and an ESRC New Investigator Grant.

I was appointed Lecturer in 2018, promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2019, and became Associate Professor in 2025.
