Dr Ciro Civile

I am an Associate Professor of Cognitive and Biological Psychology and serve as Deputy Head of the Psychology Department.

Previously, I held positions as Chair of the Research Ethics Committee and Deputy Lead of the Cognition Research Group. After completing my PhD at the University of Exeter, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at McMaster University in Canada from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, I returned to the University of Exeter after being awarded both the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship and the ESRC New Investigator Grant. I was appointed Lecturer in 2018, promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2019, and became an Associate Professor in 2025.
