Dr. Julian Basanovic is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Psychology at the University of Exeter. His research focuses on the nexus of cognitive and clinical and health psychology, looking into how our minds process emotional information. Dr. Basanovic's work delves into the complexities of how our mind can be biased, how this affects our emotions, and how this knowledge can be used in the development of psychological interventions to improve mental health.
He earned his PhD in Psychology from the University of Western Australia, where he was supervised by Prof. Colin MacLeod. Prior to his position at Exeter, he held a Research Fellow position at the Centre for the Advancement of Research on Emotion, School of Psychological Science, University of Western Australia.
