Jem Thomas is a psychodynamic psychotherapist in private practice. He is a member of Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy, where he was for a time the lead for the psychodynamic training. He is a member of the College of Psychoanalysts and is registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council. In an earlier career, he was an academic at the University of the West of England, where he was Head of Sociology and, eventually, Pro Vice Chancellor
