Jimmy T.K. Tse (he/ him)

Jimmy is a current Trainee Clinical Psychologist (DClinPsy), Honorary Clinical Researcher in Neuropsychiatry, and HLS PGR Officer at the University of Exeter Students’ Guild. His professional interests span clinical psychology, neuropsychology, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), psychological therapies, PGR wellbeing, and inclusive research environments.

Alongside his doctoral training, Jimmy contributes to neuropsychiatry research and has developed particular expertise in FND and psychological approaches to complex neurological presentations. His recent research on perinatal, neurodevelopmental and childhood health factors in patients with FND has been published in BMJ Neurology Open, showing his commitment to clinically relevant, evidence-based research.

As an HLS PGR Officer, Jimmy is particularly interested in doctoral researcher wellbeing, community, belonging, international PGR experiences, and research culture. He draws on both his own doctoral experience and previous work in speciliast mentoring at the University of Cambridge and University strategy and policy at the Univeristy of Exeter to advocate for a more connected and supportive postgraduate research community.

His broader professional goal is to bridge clinical practice, psychological research, and higher education, with a particular interest in neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation, FND, and psychological interventions.
