Miss Lucy Howl (She/her)

Associate Lecturer (LI/CBP)
CEDAR

I am an Associate Lecturer in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, teaching on the  Level 6 Certificate in Psychological Wellbeing Practice (LiCBT) and the PGCert/GradCert Psychological Therapies Practice (LiCBT) within CEDAR. I completed my PWP training with Exeter as part of the first L6 Certificate cohort whilst working in an NHS Talking Therapies Service. I have also worked as a PWP in Student Wellbeing Services and with NHS Professionals.

I am passionate about widening participation - I had the opportunity to go to university as a mature student. I entered without any formal qualifications and gained a degree in Human Sciences. This changed the way I saw the world (and myself), and opened up opportunities which I would unlikely have had. As a result, before retraining as a PWP, I worked in further education with NEETs and long term unemployed adults.

I love to create safe, accessible and creative learning spaces for students, and am currently completing the Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Associate Fellowship.

My clinical interests are around women’s health, I am currently contributing to the development of a CBT App for Menopause, and also a Menopause Masterclass. Adapting practice for patients with Long-Term Conditions is also something I am very passionate about, and I also teach on the Long-Term Conditions CPD training for qualified PWPs.
