About me:
Marta trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Bristol and is a member of the Severnside Institute of Psychotherapy where she is on the training committee. Before training as a therapist, she was a Social Anthropologist and taught and researched both in the UK and in Pakistan. She has published numerous articles in peer review journals and has also authored, contributed to or edited a number of books. At Exeter she teaches on the DPPClinPrac and the DClinPrac(res) and is the International Students' Tutor. Her main research interests are intercultural psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and race, the psychoanalytic field theory (Baranger and Ferro) and psychosocial studies methodology.
Interests:
Currently my research interests are: psychoanalysis and migration/diaspora; improving access to psychoanalytic practice; intercultural psychoanalysis; psychoanalysis and social movements; psychoanalysis and the arts; psychoanalysis, illness and death.
