Innovations in Translational Mental Health

Our mission is to advance translational mental health research across the spectrum of mental health conditions, focusing on trans-diagnostic processes that cut across depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders and related challenges.

We aim to bridge the full pathway from basic science through assessment and evaluation to interventions and translational policies, providing both scientific and real-world impact. By integrating biological, psychological, and social perspectives, we strive to innovate and improve mental health care and well-being for diverse populations.

Events

We host a range of regular events designed to support and inspire our research community. These sessions cover diverse aspects of research practice and collaboration.

For example, we run a monthly Grant Proposal Tea/ Coffee Hour to discuss potential project ideas aligned with the Innovations in Translational Mental Health theme. These informal gatherings provide a supportive space to refine developing grant proposals, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhance the translational impact of our mental health research. The event will take place on the first Monday of every month at 11.30am in Room 105, Washington Singer Building. All colleagues interested in advancing innovative and collaborative mental health research are warmly invited to join us.

In collaboration with the Clinical Research Group, the Innovations in Translational Mental Health theme also hosts regular ThinkTank seminars which cover a range of topics surrounding mood and mental health. These seminars are hosted at the Mood Disorder Centre and can be attended in-person or remotely.

We also offer seminars on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI), which explore strategies for engagement and co-production in research.
