I have lived in Dorset for the past 14 years and have two daughters and two dogs.
After starting my career in general and mental health nursing, I gained my BSc at the University of Lancaster in 1989 before qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 1991 after completing the Birmingham course. I am also trained in EMDR and clinical hypnotherapy.
Publications: Evans, C et al. Sibling response to childhood cancer: A new approach Child Care Health and Development. 1992. 18(4):229-244.
I have worked in adult mental health and acute health settings. My specific interests are in trauma and biopsychosocial aspects of long-term conditions. I currently work at Dorset County Hospital in renal, cancer and stroke services where I have developed a stepped care (steps 1-4) approach to the provision of psychological care. As well as supervising DClin trainees, I supervise a number of counsellors and students.
I have also worked in a self-employed capacity providing psycho-legal reports for the courts in personal injury and medical negligence cases.
