Overview

I am Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) psychotherapist, lecturer and supervisor.

I am Convener for the CAT Foundation Accreditation Course on the DClinPsy. 

My interest is bringing creativity to psychotherapy, supervision and training and I have been invited to edit a book on this subject for publication in 2023 as part of a series of books on CAT.

Career

I trained in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) with Dr Anthony Ryle at St Thomas' Hospital, London from 1989-1995. I have been a CAT therapist, psychotherapy lecturer and training supervisor with Devon Partnership NHS Trust for 20 years, and also in private practice. I have a long-standing role as associate lecturer and assessor on the RCPsych. Psychotherapy Module with the Peninsula Medical School. I have supervised, taught and assessed trainees throughout the South West on all levels of CAT training courses and I co-convene an annual national residential training event for CAT trainers and supervisors.  My publications include a chapter on “Supervision in a Training Context” in “Cognitive Analytic Supervision: A relational approach.” (2017) Pickvance, D. (Ed), and I have had three chapters accepted as co-author in the “Oxford Handbook of Cognitive Analytic Therapy” (in publication).
