Research

Research interests

The study of language, including reading, using experimental techniques such as reading latency analysis.

Particular interests concern parsing and syntactic analysis in different languages.

My current research includes:

On-line models of syntactic processing; computational models of parsing and of eye-movement control.

Some of the current work iis based on data collected in a recently completed ESRC research grant held with Tim Hodgson (RES-000-22-2069: Modelling Eye-movements in the Course of Reading Syntactically Ambiguous Sentences).

The Associate Research Fellow on this grant was Rachel Shen, who has now moved to the University of Bristol to take up a Research Fellow post there.

Further details of the project can be obtained by searching for the reference above on the ESRC website.
