Overview

I am deputy academic lead on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme. I teach on leadership and public policy,  ethics, and also public health, community psycholgy and planetary health.

I am a past chair of  the British Psychological Society (BPS)  Ethics Committee.  I am a member of the BPS Climate Environment Action Coordinating Group and its equivalent in the Division of Clinical Psycholgy . I am a member of the BPS Steering Group on Psychology and Human Rights. I also am co-chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology group on prevention and public health

The connection between global health and wellbeing on the one hand and environmental sustainability and climate change on the other are  key ethical questions as the role of human activity is now so clear.

See Human Rights Education for Psychologists

I am also a member of the steering group of the global network of psychologists for human rights

Teaching

My teaching interests are ethics, particularly the application of psychological science to ethical competence. Leadership and its role in human services - and its links to ethics. I have also a strong interest in public health principles and again the role psychology can play in this area.
