I have recently stepped down from being the academic lead on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme and am now senior academic tutor. I teach on leadership and public policy on the programme as well as ethical competence.
I am the immediate past chair of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Ethics Committee and also am a member of the European Federation of Psychological Associations (EFPA) Board of Ethics. I represent the BPS on the EFPA Board of Psychology and Human Rights .
For me the issues of the connection between global health and wellbeing on the one hand and environmental sustainability and climate change on the other - being key ethical questions as the role of human activity is now so clear; and it is from that perspective that I convene another EFPA group, the Board of Prevention and Intervention and also represent the BPS.
My teaching interests are ethics, particularly the application of psychological science to ethical competence. Leadership and its role in human services - and its links to ethics. I have also a strong interest in public health principles and again the role psychology can play in this area.
