I am deputy academic lead on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme. I teach on leadership and public policy on the programme as well as ethical competence.
I am a past chair of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Ethics Committee and a current member. I chair the BPS Steering Group on the Climate and Environmental Crisis. I am a member of the BPS Steering Group on Psychology and Human Rights. I also am co-chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology group on prevention and public health.
The connection between global health and wellbeing on the one hand and environmental sustainability and climate change on the other are key ethical questions as the role of human activity is now so clear.
I am also a member of the steering group of the global network of psychologists for human rights
My teaching interests are ethics, particularly the application of psychological science to ethical competence. Leadership and its role in human services - and its links to ethics. I have also a strong interest in public health principles and again the role psychology can play in this area.
